The 2025 XTERRA Trail Run World Series
The 2025 XTERRA Trail Run World Series Explores New Heights
The 2025 XTERRA Trail Run World Series schedule is up and ready to take runners through nearly 50 races spanning jungles, deserts, forests, and alpine peaks, culminating in the biggest challenge yet: the XTERRA Trail Run World Championship’s first-ever stop in Europe.

A Series Built for Every Runner
Some of the world’s best trails from the high-altitude slopes of Andorra, the volcanic ridges of Tahiti, or the winding coastal paths of Australia, offer runners of all levels an opportunity to explore terrains with a strong community vibe.
With Marathon (35-60K) and Half Marathon (15-34K) distances, the series is accessible to both competitive athletes and all those who run for the love of the trails. Open to all age groups and ability levels, including the Challenged division, it provides a chance for every runner to race against the world’s best or simply challenge themselves on stunning courses.
The Road to the World Championship
Each race in the series serves as a qualifier for the 16th edition of XTERRA Trail Run World Championship, where top finishers in each division earn slots to compete in the ultimate 2025 showdown set for Mount Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa), Wales. Known for its challenging ascents, technical descents, and sweeping highland views, the terrain is curated and cared for by Mother Nature to present runners with a pure and uncompromising trail experience.
Rankings, Points, and Regional Championships
For those chasing competition beyond the trails, XTERRA’s points and rankings system allows runners to compare their performances globally. Points are awarded at select events based on race distance and competition level, with top-ranked athletes emerging from a season of epic challenges.
For regional championships, no qualification is required so runners of all nationalities can compete, with regional athletes battling for their respective titles. The 2025 Asia-Pacific Championship runs March 27-30 in Dunsborough, Australia, while the European Championship is on November 8 in Montserrat, Spain, marking Montserrat Monastery’s 1,000-year anniversary.
